How to Give

Our churches use the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), a simple and secure service for managing donations. With PGS, you can:

  • Make One-Off Donations: Use Credit/Debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
  • Set up Regular Giving: Donate monthly, quarterly, or annually via Direct Debit.
  • Choose Inflation-Linked Giving: Adjust your donation annually to keep up with inflation.
  • Increase the Value of Your Gift with Gift Aid: Add 25% to your donation at no extra cost to you.

When signing up or giving through PGS, please have specific details for the church you wish to donate to, which are listed below.

How Does PGS Work?

PGS allows you to donate securely and, if you prefer, anonymously.

  • One-Off Donations: Simply give online using your preferred payment method.
  • Regular Giving (Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually): You can set up regular donations in the following ways:
    • Online Signup: Easily register through the PGS website.
    • Paper Form: Complete a form available from the parish treasurer.
    • By Phone: Call 0333 002 1271 (Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm) for assistance.

Giving FAQs

As Christians, our giving is a response to God’s incredible grace and the priceless gift of His Son. Generous giving not only blesses others and meets the needs of God’s people but also serves as an act of obedience and trust in Him. In giving, we recognise that God, not ourselves or anyone else, is the ultimate provider for all that we have.

Giving should come from a place of joy, not obligation. As Scripture reminds us, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

While financial contributions are one way to express generosity, they are not the only way. If you’re facing financial struggles or debt, we encourage you to express your generosity in other ways—whether through serving, praying for the Church, or offering your time to support others.

Gift Aid is a scheme that allows UK charities to reclaim the basic rate tax already paid on donations by the donor from HMRC. If you’re a UK taxpayer and have paid or will pay sufficient income or capital gains tax, Gift Aid can increase the value of your donations by 25%. This means your gift can go further at no extra cost to you.

Please note that Gift Aid declarations remain valid for six years once submitted. If you give regularly and stop paying tax, or if you don’t want us to claim Gift Aid on a specific donation because you haven’t paid tax on it, please let us know.

To complete a Gift Aid declaration, simply download the form, complete it and send it back to the treasurer for the church you are giving to.

Yes, absolutely. Many of our congregation members choose to leave a gift in their will to support a church of their choice. These gifts have been instrumental in maintaining our buildings and will continue to help fund new missional projects as we move forward.
 

If you already have a will and would like to include any of our churches, simply contact your will provider. Be sure to provide them with the official name and address of the church you are donating to.

If you would like to talk to someone in confidence about how your gift might be used, or how you would like your gift to be acknowledged, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Treasurer for the church you wish to benefit and he will be happy to explain how your wishes can best be respected.
